QualysGuard Named Finalist in Network World's "Best of the Tests"

Award Identifies Best New Products, Services and Practices in Networking

Redwood City, CA — February 3, 2005 — Qualys™, Inc., the leading provider of on demand vulnerability management solutions, announced today that its QualysGuard service was selected as a finalist for Network World’s 2005 “Best of the Tests.” The finalists include a select group of 42 products that were designated the best performances in Network World’s hands-on testing program last year. In all, Network World tested and reported on a total of 260 enterprise products in that time frame.

In November 2004, QualysGuard received Network World’s Clear Choice award in the magazine’s review of eight vulnerability management solutions ( The Clear Choice designation is given to the highest scoring product in a comparative review. QualysGuard was commended for its ease of deployment and use, network mapping and operating system identification, highly flexible scans, reporting templates, and remediation workflow capabilities. Delivered as a service, QualysGuard eliminates the burden of software installation and maintenance.

The 2005 “Best of the Tests” finalists will appear in Network World’s sixth annual Signature Series Best Products Issue published in February, and it will be available online at This issue highlights the best new products, services and practices in networking and the best new ideas for buying, building, and managing networks.

Network World taps the expertise of industry-leading reviewers, and it is an honor to be selected as one of their “Best of the Tests” finalists,” said Philippe Courtot, Chairman and CEO of Qualys. “Because there is no software to install or manage, Qualys” on demand model makes it easy for customers to continuously monitor their network, identify changes and vulnerabilities, and track remediation. By creating such a ‘security baseline’ and continuously auditing the progress made, security professionals can now demonstrate to their organization the importance of good security practices.”
