Qualys CEO Receives Editor’s Award for Role in Supporting User Security Initiatives
London, UK — April 29, 2004 — Qualys, Inc., provider of on-demand network security audits and vulnerability management, today announced that it has received two SC Magazine Global Awards. The awards recognize solutions that best address users’ security needs. Based on the votes of readers around the world, the awards are recognized in the industry for their objectivity.
The magazine received over 900 nominations from more than 300 individual companies this year, and 32 award categories were established by SC Magazine editors and judges in 26 countries. Finalists of Reader Trust Awards are selected on the basis of the judges’ deliberations, global customer references and specific product tests.
The Awards Gala Dinner which took place on April 27th in London attracted over 750 attendees with more than a thousand additional participants following the ceremony online.
Nominated in three categories, the QualysGuard® on-demand network security audit and vulnerability service was selected as the Best Security Service for 2004. The three other finalists included: Counterpane’s Enterprise Protection Suite, MessageLabs’ Email Security System and Symantec’s Managed Services.
“We created the SC Magazine Global Awards to allow our readers to express their views on available solutions,” said Chris Thomas, Global Publisher of SC Magazine. “The credibility and relevance of the awards comes from the fact that they are in large part selected by the actual users of such solutions.”
In addition to Qualys’ technological achievement, Philippe Courtot, CEO of Qualys, was selected by the editors of SC Magazine “for his personal contribution to the security industry”.
“The editors of SC Magazine decided to reward Philippe Courtot for his contribution to the overall progress of security and more specifically for his genuine commitment to support major customer initiatives that define effective security models, notably via CSO Forums in the US and the Jericho Project in Europe,” said Ron Condon, Editor in Chief, SC Magazine.
“We are sincerely honored to have been selected by SC Magazine readers and editors,” said Adrian Ionel, VP and GM of Qualys European Operations. “We would like to thank the readers who voted for us and to recognize the contribution of our customers in helping us improve our technology and serve their needs today and in the future.”
