QualysGuard PCI SaaS Platform Enables ControlScan to Automate and Track PCI Compliance for Merchants, Banks and Independent Sales Organizations with Virtually No Upfront Costs
Redwood City, CA - February 4, 2008 - Qualys, Inc., the leading provider of on demand security and compliance solutions, today announced that ControlScan, a leader in e-commerce security, has selected QualysGuard PCI as its underlying platform for delivering a new suite of ControlScan PCI compliance services to merchants, acquiring banks and independent sales organizations (ISOs).
By incorporating the QualysGuard PCI service, ControlScan now offers select customers and acquiring banks’ merchants a proven network scanning solution, which is designed to ease and accelerate efforts to achieve and maintain compliance specific to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). This partnership emphasizes Qualys’ strategy for delivering comprehensive PCI services through partners that bundle QualysGuard PCI with their value-added services. Partners such as ControlScan are now able to deliver a scalable PCI solution to their customers while retaining strong relationships as well as its brand. At the same time, acquiring banks have full visibility and audit capabilities on the PCI status of merchants via the Internet.
“It is PowerPay’s responsibility to ensure that our merchants are knowledgeable and compliant with the security standards that they must adopt to protect customers from fraudulent activity and avoid fines resulting from security breaches,” said Brian Wood, chief marketing officer of PowerPay, one of the fastest-growing providers of integrated e-commerce and retail payment solutions in the United States. “We evaluated several PCI compliance vendors and determined that the ControlScan ‘powered by Qualys’ solution was the easiest to implement and best met our customers’ needs with a proactive and automated approach that clearly sets them apart from the competition.”
The “powered by Qualys” PCI service allows ControlScan to both display and reinforce their brand in the user interface along with the merchant’s acquiring banks, significantly streamlining customer account administration and management. ControlScan can now better manage their own customers’ progress toward PCI compliance and provide customer support, including help with vulnerability and process remediation, compliance monitoring, reporting and false-positive resolution.
“Qualys has an established track record of helping companies comply with PCI requirements through the company’s on demand PCI compliance solution,” said Joan Herbig, CEO of ControlScan. “By allowing us to build our services on the QualysGuard PCI platform, Qualys is providing us with the ability to customize our own PCI solution set for our customers. Leveraging Qualys’ PCI platform, we are able to focus our specialized resources to provide the best PCI scanning and compliance-related services and deliver on our mission to make e-commerce secure for our customers.”
“The merchant services industry critically relies on highly secure payment networks and trusted relationships between its parties,” said Philippe Courtot, CEO and chairman of Qualys. “Together, ControlScan and Qualys continue to make PCI compliance less of a burden by streamlining the steps to maintain the strict integrity of payment transactions.”
Utilizing the QualysGuard PCI platform, Qualys’ global partners can deliver self-service PCI scanning capabilities to merchants and financial institutions while closely managing the PCI process to reduce compliance risk for their customers. As a certified PCI scanning solution, QualysGuard PCI gives partners the tools they need to quickly become an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) for PCI. More than half of the approximately 250 services organizations currently certified to deliver PCI certification are Qualys certified partners and have adopted the Qualys PCI on demand platform for providing PCI-related services to their clients.
