Anti-Malware Products
Description: Symantec has released a security advisory to address multiple vulnerabilities that have been identified by Tavis Ormandy of Google Project Zero in the core engine used by Symantec’s anti-malware software, such as Norton Antivirus and Symantec Endpoint Protection. The most severe vulnerability is described as potentially “wormable” and could lead to remote code execution in the kernel on Windows, Mac, or Linux. Several other major vulnerabilities were also enumerated and addressed. Users and administrators are advised to patch their systems as soon as possible.
