Redwood City, CA — February 24, 2004 — Qualys™, Inc., the market leader of on-demand Network Security Audits and Vulnerability Management, today announced the formation of its CSO Advisory Board to offer enterprise insight on security needs and strategic direction in the further development of Qualys’ vulnerability management web service. Together, Qualys and its CSO Advisory Board will collaborate to address the real life business issues that CSOs face within their organizations.

“The role of the CSO is becoming more complex and involved in business requirements. Not only are these executives handling technology issues, but they are also managing the complicated business issues surrounding their organizations security, from the latest regulations to security spending challenges,” said Howard Schmidt, CISO of eBay and chairman of the Qualys CSO Advisory Board. “Qualys is taking a significant step in understanding the business needs of their customers, so that together, they can address the growing concerns that face today’s CSOs.”

The advisory board will be comprised of CSOs from leading global organizations including:

  • Howard Schmidt, CISO, eBay

We have developed the Qualys Advisory Board so that we can work closely with CSOs to leverage their expertise and experiences and better serve our customers,” said Philippe Courtot, Chairman and CEO of Qualys. “These advisors offer real life experience in implementing security and will offer Qualys a valuable perspective on how to focus our web service to continue to address business requirements and regulatory issues.”
