Qualys Expands Market Presence In Africa

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 22, 2016 - Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), a pioneer and leading provider of cloud-based security and compliance solutions, today announced it has expanded its operations in Africa as part of its plans to expand the uptake of cloud-based IT security and compliance offerings. Qualys is supporting a series of events across the continent to raise awareness of Cloud and security, while the company has also appointed Rishard Baderoon as Country Manager as well.

Qualys is supporting the following events in Africa:

• Regional Cyber Security Summit 2016 – Held from 11^th to 13^th May, this event provides business and IT leaders with insight into the value that security provides to enterprises that exist in a connected world. Topics to be discussed will include the role of cloud security, increasing acceptance of security within businesses, analyzing governance practices and dealing with the cyber security skills gaps that currently exist for African businesses.
• IT Web Security Summit – Held from 16^th to 20^th May 2016, this conference summit provides information security professionals with insight and knowledge sharing opportunities around security issues. Key themes for this year’s event will include the role of Cloud in delivering better security and the impact of data on security strategies.
• Qualys Security Conference – Held on 24^th May 2016 in Johannesburg and 26^th May in Cape Town, QSC provides Qualys and its customers with the opportunity to hear about the latest thinking around global IT asset protection and security using Cloud. Key themes for this year’s event will include how to improve speed of security planning, new approaches to vulnerability management and how Cloud security can support more effective compliance planning.

Alongside these events, Qualys is expanding its operations with the appointment of Richard Baderoon. He comes to Qualys after having held leadership positions with Performanta and Mobius Consulting in South Africa, as well as three years’ experience managing security operations for financial management and planning company Sanlam. His background in security consultancy and internal operations will support Qualys and its customers in their implementation of Cloud for vulnerability management and continuous security monitoring.
