Hugh Njemanze, Founding CTO of HP’s ArcSight, Joins Qualys Technical Advisory Board
Renowned SIEM Veteran to Help Qualys Expand Its Extensible Cloud Security Platform
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb.5, 2013 – Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), a pioneer and leading provider of cloud security and compliance management solutions, today announced that Hugh Njemanze has joined Qualys’ Technical Advisory Board. Njemanze, who cofounded ArcSight, introducing security information and event management (SIEM) solutions to the market, will lend his expertise as Qualys works to expand its extensible QualysGuard Cloud Platform helping organizations worldwide to address their growing security and compliance needs.

Njemanze co-founded ArcSight in May 2000 and served as its CTO and Executive Vice President of research and development. He led product development, information technology deployment and product research at the firm, and expanded these responsibilities to lead all engineering and R&D efforts for HP’s Enterprise Security Products group, the organization that ArcSight became part of post-acquisition. Njemanze is now an advisor and entrepreneur at investment firm, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers (KPCB). Prior to joining ArcSight, Njemanze worked as the CTO at Verity, where he led product development, and before that, he was at Apple in software engineering, where he was one of the key architects behind the Data Access Language (DAL). Njemanze is a CISSP and holds a B.S. in computer science from Purdue University. He was also honored with the Northern California Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur of The Year Award in 2010.
Qualys’ Technical Advisory Board is comprised of security leaders from Cisco, eBay, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Paypal and other leading companies. The advisory board meets quarterly to discuss top priorities and challenges for securing global infrastructures, providing strategic direction for product development at Qualys.
