Qualys “Leads the Pack” in 2010 Independent Research Report on Vulnerability Management
QualysGuard IT Security and Compliance Suite Earns Top Rank for Strategy and Market Presence
Redwood City, Calif., - July 20, 2010 - Qualys®, Inc., the leading provider of on demand IT security risk and compliance management solutions, today announced that Qualys leads the pack in “The Forrester Wave™: Vulnerability Management, Q2 2010” report. In this evaluation, Qualys was cited as a leader in Vulnerability Management, earning high scores in its three areas of evaluation: current offering, strategy and market presence.
According to the report, “Qualys leads the pack…on its strategy as well as its execution. Not only did Qualys pioneer the SaaS hybrid model for vulnerability assessment, but today it is the largest vulnerability management vendor in terms of revenues. Its configuration compliance assessment functionality, also delivered via Qualys’ in-the-cloud multitenant architecture, has since matured and is one of the most advanced in the market.” (“The Forrester Wave™: Vulnerability Management, Q2 2010,” Forrester Research, Inc., July, 2010)
It continues with, “Today, the QualysGuard cloud delivers vulnerability assessment, application-level scanning, and configuration compliance auditing, all from a centralized multitenant architecture. This architecture helps to deliver scalability and consolidated reporting. Qualys is also one of the few vendors in this evaluation that has a full-featured configuration compliance module that provides concrete mappings from a wide list of regulations to actual IT controls.”
“We launched QualysGuard nearly 10 years ago with a new idea of delivering security applications through the Internet,” said Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO for Qualys. “Since then, thousands of customers of all sizes in more than 85 countries have deployed vulnerability management solutions to protect their business technology systems and meet regulatory requirements. We are honored to see our QualysGuard IT Security and Compliance Suite earn high scores in this evaluation, which we believe demonstrates the strength of our SaaS model, our commitment to our customers and their continued support.”
The report adds that the Qualys service model “once viewed as radical…now counts some of the largest organizations in the world as customers” and concludes by recommending Qualys to “all but the most conservative organizations,” stating, “it is hard to go wrong with Qualys.”
Qualys was one of eight companies invited to participate in the Forrester Wave on Vulnerability Management. The report evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of top vulnerability management vendors against 53 criteria grouped into three high-level areas: current offering, strategy and market presence.
