Nils Puhlmann Joins Qualys as Chief Security Officer and Vice President of Risk Management

Redwood City, CA - November 3, 2008 - Qualys®, Inc., the leading provider of on demand IT security risk and compliance management solutions, announced Nils Puhlmann has joined the company as Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Vice President of Risk Management. With 15 years of broad industry experience within Security and IT management, Nils brings to Qualys knowledge that spans IT risk management, security policy development, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

Nils is responsible for security, risk management and business continuity planning, including the security of the QualysGuard platform. Additionally, with his working industry knowledge, Nils will oversee Qualys’ CSO Advisory board which main charter is to collaborate with other CSOs and industry leaders to offer real-world expertise in forging and implementing security and compliance best practices. The results of which will help guide the strategic direction in the further development of Qualys’ SaaS offerings.

Most recently, Nils was the CISO for Electronic Arts, where he was globally responsible for managing information security and risk management. While CISO of Robert Half International, Nils led information security and business continuity on a global enterprise-wide scale. Nils has also held the position of Director Global IT & Security and Chief Privacy Officer at Mindjet Corp and Senior Manager Product Security at Adobe Systems where he created Adobe’s product security incident response team, chaired Adobe’s Security Task Force and managed Adobe’s first Common Criteria Certification. He maintains numerous security certifications, including CISSP-ISSMP and CISM. He has held several Board of Directors positions (ISACA Silicon Valley, OVAL) and is a member of Corporate Advisory Boards. Nils is a member of the CSO Interchange, the CISO Executive Council and is a subject matter expert for ISACA and ISC2. He is also a member of the Advisory Council for the CISO Forum of ISSA.
