CEO of Qualys to Keynote at Infosecurity New York

NEW YORK, INFOSECURITY CONFERENCE—BOOTH # 3200 - September 10, 2007 - Qualys®, Inc., the leading provider of on demand security risk and compliance management solutions, today announced that Qualys CEO and Chairman, Philippe Courtot, and Qualys Security Research Engineer, Mike Shema, will present at two sessions during the upcoming Infosecurity New York conference.

In his keynote presentation entitled, “The Changing Economics of Software and Security,” Courtot will explore the factors and growing needs of global organizations that have catalyzed the rapid adoption of the on demand security model. Further, he will examine the continuing consolidation of enterprise and security software vendors and the complications mergers and acquisitions have introduced to the already-complex challenge of defending an organization’s internal systems, external network and in-transit information from security attacks.

Courtot will describe how the on demand model is changing the economics of developing, integrating, distributing, deploying and securing business and communication applications by drastically reducing the cost, complexity and integration headaches typically associated with a software-based approach. He will identify the major security solutions and services vendors helping to spearhead this change and highlight those that are embracing the on demand security model.

Mike Shema, security research engineer at Qualys will also be speaking at Infosecurity New York with his presentation entitled, “Web Application Worms: The Future of Browser Insecurity.” Shema will discuss the growing issue of Web application worms, examining past examples of attacks and focusing on the evolution and threat they present today. Reflecting Infosecurity’s focus towards educational sessions, Shema will also recommend proactive countermeasures organizations can take as default Web browser security and settings fall short of the pace of emerging threats.
