Qualys CEO Philippe Courtot elected to the CSIA Board of Directors

Redwood City, CA - February 16, 2007 - Qualys, Inc., the leading provider of on demand security risk and compliance management solutions, today announced that Chairman and CEO Philippe Courtot has been elected to serve on the Cyber Security Industry Alliance’s 2007 Board of Directors. As part of a group of executives chosen from leading global security providers, Philippe Courtot will utilize his years of experience to help CSIA to advance cyber security policy in 2007.

Members of the CSIA Board of Directors, comprised of CEOs and representatives from member companies, are tasked with securing the privacy, reliability and integrity of information systems through awareness, policy and technology development. As the only organization dedicated to ensuring the privacy, reliability and integrity of information systems, CSIA has played a critical role in influencing several key issues, including the ratification of the Council of Europe’s Convention on Cyber Crime and the creation of the Assistant Secretary for Cyber Security and Telecommunications position. In 2007, CSIA will focus on achieving federal legislation to ensure the privacy and security of personal information, strengthening the Federal Information Security Management Act, shaping the cyber security agenda at the Department of Homeland Security and expanding its influence in Europe.

“I am honored to serve on the CSIA board at a time when securing the Internet is more important than ever. Critical business applications that have traditionally been inside the network are now becoming interconnected and organizations of all sizes have a great need to ‘externalize’ their data and business processes in a secure way so they can operate on a global scale by leveraging the economies of scale the Internet offers,” said Philippe Courtot, CEO and chairman of Qualys. “This trend toward outsourcing key business functions will continue to accelerate, and with the growing adoption of new Web applications delivered as a service across the Internet, securing the underlying Web infrastructure becomes an industry obligation.”

The 2007 CSIA Board of Directors includes:

  • Mark Templeton, President and CEO, Citrix Systems, Inc.
  • Ron Moritz, SVP and Chief Security Strategist, CA, Inc.
  • Risto Siilasmaa, Chairman of the Board, F-Secure Corporation
  • Thomas Noonan, President and CEO, IBM Internet Security Systems
  • Ken Denman, Chairman, President and CEO, iPass, Inc.
  • Dale L. Fuller, Interim President and CEO, McAfee, Inc.
  • Phil Dunkelberger, CEO and President, PGP Corporation
  • Philippe Courtot, Chairman and CEO, Qualys, Inc.
  • Patricia Sueltz, CEO, SurfControl Plc
