Qualys Announces the Appointment of Sandra Bergeron to its Board of Directors
Silicon Valley Veteran Has Gained a National Reputation as a Computer Security Thought Leader
Redwood City, CA - October 30, 2006 - Qualys®, Inc., a global leader in on demand vulnerability management and Compliance, today announced that Sandra Bergeron has joined the company's board of directors. Bergeron has a national reputation as a computer security thought leader whose opinions are often sought out by both government and private industry leaders. She has testified to the Subcommittee on Technology within the House Science Committee regarding how government and private industry can better prepare for virus attacks and was selected by U.S. Congressman Mike Honda to serve on the Silicon Valley Blue Ribbon Task Force on Aviation Security and Technology.
"The software as a service (SaaS) business model is getting significant traction in the IT marketplace and Qualys has shown important leadership by being the first to successfully introduce this model to the security space," said Bergeron. "SaaS will change the way corporations manage both security and compliance programs by bringing them together into a single solution, thereby eliminating the cost and complexity associated with deploying and managing point software-based solutions. In fact, this model allows organizations to 'operationalize' security and compliance by establishing a process to identify non-compliance, while tracking and auditing the remediation."
"Sandra is one of the most highly respected women of technology in Silicon Valley and it is an honor to welcome her to the Qualys board of directors," said Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO of Qualys. "She truly brings a wealth of executive vision and security industry experience to our board."
