Fast Growing Qualys Expands Management Team

Online network security enabler adds VPs of Finance and European Operations plus new Director of Operations

San Jose, Calif. — July 16, 2001 — Qualys, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise network vulnerability assessment and monitoring solutions, today announced it has expanded its executive team with the addition of Vice President and General Manger of European Operations Ricardo Lavie-Peretz, formerly of Compuware and Mercury Interactive, and Vice President of Finance George Wu, formerly of VeriSign. Qualys also added Christopher Zuleeg, formerly of Lipstream Networks, as Director of Operations as it enters into a new phase of rapid growth.

Qualys is expanding its operations in both the Americas and Europe as leading Managed Security Providers (MSPs) continue standardizing on the Qualys network vulnerability scanning platform. The Qualys platform enables MSPs, consulting organizations and other security professionals to offer state of the art and automated network vulnerability assessment services to their customers via the Internet. Earlier this year, Qualys attracted as Chairman and CEO industry veteran Philippe Courtot, who possesses a strong record of transforming innovative companies into industry leaders. Qualys also recently hired network security expert Gerhard Eschelbeck, formerly of Network Associates, as Vice President of Engineering.

“In just the past four months Qualys has launched a new-generation global online scanning platform, entered into relationships with more than 10 leading MSPs such as Mercury Interactive and Cable and Wireless, and expanded our sales coverage into scores of new markets,” said Mr. Courtot. “As Qualys continues to build momentum in the marketplace, we are fortunate in our ability to attract talented and seasoned professionals to guide our current growth and enable our future expansion.”

Ricardo Lavie-Peretz will spearhead the continued expansion of Qualys into European markets. He brings to Qualys more than 25 years of European sales and management experience with both established and start-up companies and was most recently European sales director for Compuware. Prior to that, he established a European presence for Mercury Interactive, a global leader in automated testing and performance management. He holds a MS degree from Polytechnique Suisse.

George Wu will be responsible for Qualys’ Financial Administration and Accounting operations. With more than seven years high tech financial management experience, he was most recently group controller at VeriSign. Prior to that he was at Hewlett-Packard and Deloitte and Touche. A CPA, he holds a BS degree in Accounting from San Jose State University.

Christopher Zuleeg will lead Operations for Qualys, where he will apply both his operational expertise with start-ups and his large-company management experience. A ten-year veteran of Apple Computer, he was most recently director of operations for Lipstream Networks and before that Visto Corporation, which he also co-founded. He holds an MBA degree from San Jose State University, a MSEE degree from Stanford University, and a BS degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California at San Diego.
