Fujitsu Software Corporation Partners with Qualys to Offer ebusiness Site Security Services

Fujitsu Software Corporation and Qualys Join Forces to Add ebusiness Site Security Audit Services to the QoEtient eBMP Product Suite

Redwood City, CA — June 12, 2001 — Fujitsu Software Corporation (FS) QoEtient ebusiness management platform (eBMP), an advanced service for monitoring and managing ebusiness “quality of experience” (QoE) on the Internet, today announced a partnership with Qualys, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise network vulnerability assessment and monitoring solutions.

The partnership incorporates Qualys’ robust security audit services into QoEtient eBMP’s advanced ebusiness site monitoring and management service, extending QoEtient’s lead in innovation as the only service of its kind to integrate this feature. Another first in Web monitoring services: QoEtient with QualysGuard makes suggestions for solutions to security holes and directs users to available fixes. Entirely browser-based, with no added software or hardware to install, these new services fit in with QoEtient’s vision of seamless ebusiness site management. This partnership advances QoEtient’s ability to help its customers guard against and respond to the growing number of denial-of-service attacks and hacker threats.

“We are incorporating Qualys’ leading edge vulnerability detection technology into our ebusiness management platform to offer our customers an integrated solution that goes far beyond simple performance and availability,” said Bruce Nash, Director, QoEtient Business Group, FS. “Fujitsu’s QoEtient eBMP directly addresses the demands companies face in managing their ebusiness operations, from uptime reliability to security. By delivering a platform of core services and including best-of-breed partners like Qualys, QoEtient addresses the fundamental need for an ebusiness to understand how its Web site performs.”

By integrating the QualysGuard security audit service, QoEtient will now automatically scan computer networks via the Internet for security exposures and immediately notify customers of vulnerabilities. These audits include monitoring and detecting vulnerabilities in new hardware or software configurations, exposures often overlooked by other services. This allows QoEtient customers to proactively and cost-effectively defend themselves against intrusion.

“Using the QoEtient eBMP is like having your own ebusiness management platform without the headaches and costs of having your own hardware solution” said Rohan Chandran, Director of Engineering, Infonox, a financial services firm and early adopter and customer of QoEtient eBMP. “Given that Infonox needs to handle transactions flawlessly every minute of the day, the recent addition of a security audit is a tremendous value add.”

The QoEtient Security Audit service quickly audits networks of all sizes, graphically maps and describes security risks. On a daily, weekly or monthly basis, customers receive secure audit results from the more than 950 automatic vulnerability tests performed. One of the key benefits to QoEtient customers is that they are automatically kept abreast of the newest security vulnerabilities. Customers are notified with the latest information about illegal access patterns through QoEtient’s constantly expanding knowledge base.

“In providing an online security auditing service delivered over the Internet, Fujitsu’s QoEtient is taking a lead in empowering organizations to adopt a proactive security position,” said Philippe Courtot, Qualys chairman and CEO. “With QoEtient’s new Qualys-enabled service, customers will be able to quickly and accurately scan entire networks for security holes as easily as they launch Web searches.”

The QoEtient eBMP platform is a robust solution including performance and availability monitoring, alerts and reporting and vulnerability assessment. It provides management information and analysis across an entire system, helping ebusinesses, enterprises and e-commerce service providers to realize their full potential.

Analyzing and managing complex ebusiness systems, QoEtient eBMP is ideal for ISPs, ASPs and Fortune 10,000 enterprises. With the inclusion of the Qualys security audit capability, QoEtient eBMP is particularly powerful and effective for financial services and similar market segments where sensitivity and security of data is a primary consideration. QoEtient customers may utilize the new security capability in July 2001.
