Global Integrity and Qualys announce new Vulnerability Testing and Analysis Service

DMZCheck(™) Service Provides Comprehensive Testing to Identify Vulnerabilities

Sunnyvale, Calif. — September 27, 2000 — Global Integrity Corporation and Qualys today announced that they have joined forces to provide DMZCheck the first comprehensive and continuous testing of clients’ Internet perimeters to add another layer of protection against unauthorized intruders.

DMZCheck provides continuous testing of a client’s Internet border through a unique blend of automated and manual vulnerability testing and provides a client with reports on current architecture, vulnerabilities and changes since the last test as well as recommendations for improving the security of the network. DMZCheck consists of quarterly, fully automated testing that can be configured to scan the target network monthly, weekly or even daily. DMZCheck enables clients to identify new risks to their Internet border areas as they occur and new vulnerabilities as they are discovered.

Global Integrity’s Vulnerability Assessment team will perform the manual vulnerability testing on a quarterly basis. Its “ethical hackers” will verify all vulnerabilities discovered using the automated tools and identify additional exploits that cannot be identified in an automated fashion.

Qualys, a leader in online network security services, provides the automated testing component, which is fully configurable via a Web-based interface. The automated testing will check for more than 500 known vulnerabilities and provide baseline and delta reports, as well as network diagrams and recommendations for mitigating all identified exposure areas.

“Qualys’ automated Web-based auditing provides a systematic way to track vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis,” said Ronald Ruprecht, Global Integrity’s vice president of Vulnerability Testing and Analysis. “It gives our vulnerability experts the leverage to apply their knowledge in the most efficient way possible.

Global Integrity Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), provides comprehensive information security services to Fortune and Global 100 companies.

“Global Integrity provides expert services sorely needed by more and more enterprises,” said Hamid Farzaneh, vice president of Marketing of Qualys. “And our Internet-based vulnerability monitoring infrastructure enables Global Integrity to concentrate on the sweet spot of its business.
