QualysGuard Recognised As Best Network Protection Service of the Year in the IDG Network Awards 2004

Qualys receives its fourth major industry award in one quarter

London, UK — July 5, 2004 — Qualys™, Inc., the leader in on demand vulnerability management, today announced that it has received the award for “Best Service of the Year for Network Protection” from IDG’s Network Awards 2004. The new IDG network awards have been founded to recognise the very best in every field of the networking industry and to reward companies and individuals who have demonstrated technical excellence throughout the past year.

The first network award ceremony held at an IDG gala dinner in London on 29 June attracted more than 400 attendees from business user organisations, networking and communications vendors and service providers, as well as the trade press.

While being selected winner of the prestigious “Best Service of the Year for Network Protection” for its QualysGuard service, Qualys was also a finalist in the “Most Innovative Use of Technology Product” category of the inaugural IDG Network Awards 2004.

“Security has never been more important for enterprises,” said Maxwell Cooter, editor and founder of Techworld and chairman of the judging panel. “The QualysGuard service offers organisations a sophisticated option when it comes to scanning for vulnerabilities. The judges, therefore, deemed it a very worthy winner.” Techworld is an IDG publication.

“At Qualys we aim to make our service first-class through a process of on-going improvement, continually updating it to meet the needs of real users,” said Adrian Ionel, Qualys vice president and general manager for EMEA Operations. “We see this award, given by some of the most discerning networking professionals and editors in the UK, as recognition of our success in this endeavour.”

This award is the fourth significant accolade Qualys has received in a single quarter. Qualys won two awards within the SC Magazine global awards programme – Best Security Service (chosen on the basis of readers’ votes) and the Editor’s Award for contribution to the security industry. In May, Qualys was selected as one of the “Red Herring 100”, a list of the top 100 privately owned technology companies judged on the criteria of innovation and entrepreneurial prowess.
