SC Magazine Awards honour Qualys as the Best European Security Company and Best European Security Solution
London, UK - April 27, 2006 - Qualys, provider of on demand vulnerability management and policy compliance solutions, swept five categories in the prestigious 2006 SC Magazine European Awards. The SC Magazine Awards highlight and showcase the best products, services and professionals in the information security industry and were announced at a gala dinner in London on 25 April.
QualysGuard, the company’s flagship product, won the readers trust award for Best Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation. The product was selected by readers of SC Magazine for its speed, accuracy, breadth of functionalities and cost-effectiveness.
In the European Excellence Awards, voted on by a judging panel comprising leading European CSOs and industry influencers, Qualys was named Best European Security Company and QualysGuard was honoured as Best European Security Solution, Best Enterprise Security Solution and Best SME Security Solution.
“This is an outstanding and unprecedented achievement” said Ron Condon, Chairman of the judging panel. “This year’s European programme attracted 421 entries — double last year’s number. For Qualys to have won 5 awards is a great reflection on Qualys growing prominence in the European market and on their level of recognition by customers and our readers alike”
“We are truly honoured to have received recognition of this magnitude” said Philippe Courtot, CEO of Qualys, “It testifies to the commitment being demonstrated by our customers here and is a tribute to everyone — staff and partners alike — who have worked so hard to establish on demand vulnerability management over the last six years.”
Qualys user, ICI, also won Best Security Implementation for its internal vulnerability assessment project using the QualysGuard technology. “QualysGuard is a true Software-as-a-Service solution - with no software to install, update and manage - delivering real understanding and control of your entire global network including outsourcers. As one of the very first to adopt this technology we are delighted to see its success and also to see the hard work of our team recognized in this award.” said Paul Simmonds, global CISO of ICI.
“The cost benefits analysis for Qualys is very compelling” said Richard Starnes, SC Awards judge and President of the ISSA.
Andreas Wuchner, head of global IT security at Novartis, commented “QualysGuard delivers the black and white visibility we need to control and measure our network security effectively.”
Qualys brings the speed, accuracy, breadth of functionalities and cost-effectiveness of the software-as-a-service model to enterprise security. It’s QualysGuard on demand vulnerability management and policy compliance service enables organisations to assess and manage business risk. QualysGuard gives users an automated way to map global assets, identify vulnerabilities on their networks, prioritise remediation according to business risk, and ensure regulatory compliance - with no infrastructure to deploy or manage.
With over 1,300 product and service nominations from over 330 competing companies globally, the SC Awards are the world’s leading awards programme for the information security industry. The SC Awards programme spans US and UK. The SC Awards are composed of both the Reader Trust Technology Awards — voted on by SC readers in each region and the SC Awards Council, a group of carefully selected senior CSOs — and the Professional Awards that are judged by a panel of the industry’s top talents.
Recognising technical excellence and professional achievement across a variety of different categories, the SC Awards is a truly unique programme developed to bring attention to the industry’s top products and highlight the professionals that have both created them and used them within their companies. These industry achievements will be acknowledged during the Awards ceremony taking place at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on 25 April, 2006. SC Magazine’s May issue will include a special supplement with the finalists and winners.
