Qualys and Lanmark join forces to combat IT Network Vulnerability

Redwood City, CA — February 14, 2000 — Qualys, a leader in the emerging field of online network vulnerability assessment services, today announces a partnership agreement with Lanmark Technical Services to integrate Qualys’ online security auditing service into Lanmark’s corporate IT solutions.

Lanmark, a leading IT consultancy, will offer its customers the opportunity to benefit from Qualys’ flagship solution, QualysGuard, to assess their network vulnerability and effectively safeguard against security risks. QualysGuard, the first online, on-demand network vulnerability assessment service, will enable Lanmark to strengthen its risk assessment solutions by continually monitoring, assessing and strengthening the security of its customers’ internet connections.

Under the current climate whereby corporate network infiltration is an ongoing threat, ad hoc network audits are simply not enough. QualysGuard is delivered via the Application Service Provider (ASP) model on a subscription as opposed to a transaction basis. This will enable Lanmark customers to conduct unlimited checks on their IP addresses, at a fixed cost, which can be undertaken as frequently as they wish. An added benefit of QualysGuard is that it does not require deployment or upgrading of a company’s software or hardware, as the service is accessed through a secure browser.
