CISA BOD 26-04 Phase III Is Here

How To Make Compliance Sustainable

Date & Time: Wednesday, December 9 | 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM ET

Location: Beacon Global, 800 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20006

On December 7, the final phase of CISA's Binding Operational Directive 26-04 took effect. Civilian agencies are now required to remediate vulnerabilities within the directive's risk-based timelines, which include fixing the most dangerous vulnerabilities in as little as three days. Agencies must also continuously tag internet-facing assets and keep CISA informed of their remediation status.

The CISA directive reflects an unavoidable reality: AI is accelerating how quickly attackers can find and exploit vulnerabilities. For many agencies, meeting the new timelines with existing tools and processes is already a struggle. Manual patch cycles weren't built for three-day deadlines, and closing the gap through sheer effort pulls people and budget away from other high-priority work.

Automated remediation operations is the long-term solution that we must all migrate towards. In this session, we'll break down what BOD 26-04 now requires, examine the exploitation trends driving the new timelines, and discuss how automated remediation can make compliance sustainable.

The Risk Operations Center Quantified: Mythos Measured & Managed

Cybersecurity Metrics Icon

#1: Rethinking Risk Measurement

Most security programs measure activity and call it risk. This session challenges that assumption, laying the conceptual foundation for a Risk Operations Center built on measurement that is precise, quantified, and defensible.

#2: Arrival, Burndown, and Survival

How fast is exposure arriving? How quickly are you closing it? How long does it survive? These three questions, precisely measured, unlock your Average Window of Exposure and transform how you understand the scale and cost of risk in your environment.

#3: The Exposure Economics of Mythos

AI is quietly rewriting the math of cyber risk. This session puts hard numbers on what that means, using Average Window of Exposure to reveal the economic cost of your current burndown rate and making the case for hyper-prioritization and autonomous remediation as the only response that matches the pace of a modern threat.

#4: Presenting to the Board

Getting boards to act on cyber risk is one of the hardest things a security leader does. This session teaches you to translate your ROC's quantified exposure into narratives that frame investment decisions and build lasting executive confidence.
