Qualys wins "Security Product of the Year" in the CNET Network UK Technology Awards for the second year in a row

Award testifies to the rapid adoption of Software as a Service (SaaS) in securing Networks and Critical Assets

London - 28 September 2006 - Qualys, provider of on-demand vulnerability management and policy compliance solutions, announced today that it has won “Security Product of the Year” in the CNET Networks UK Technology Awards. This is the second successive year Qualys has won this accolade.

The CNET Networks UK Technology Awards recognise innovation, application and excellence in technology and business. The Awards Judging Council comprised senior practitioners and experts from the technology industry and media. The awards attracted a record six hundred entries this year and were announced at a gala dinner held in London on Tuesday night. Other solutions short listed in the category “Security Product of the Year” came from Comodo, Imprivata, SecureWave and Unilink Systems.

The judges’ verdict on QualysGuard 4.0 was:

“For the second year in a row, Qualys had all the right answers. Its security on demand system has attracted good customers such as ICI and second to none testimonials and case studies. These back up the company’s four-nines accuracy in spotting threats, compatibility with its clients’ business models and strict attention to detail - exactly what you need for your company’s network security.”

“To receive this award for two successive years demonstrates that the software as a service approach to vulnerability management is gaining wide industry acceptance. As networks become ever more interconnected, establishing security standards, implementing processes to identify vulnerabilities continuously and complying with internal and external regulations is an absolute necessity. Increasingly organisations - small and large - are turning to a “Software as a Service” or on-demand solution to help them manage their network security. This removes the hurdles of installing, maintaining and integrating complex security applications across multiple locations.” said Philippe Courtot, CEO of Qualys.

Over 200 Forbes Global 2000 organisations have chosen or deployed Qualys worldwide, including the following European organizations Sony, ICI, Novartis, AXA, 3i, Man Financial, Royal Mail Group, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Sodexho, Standard Chartered Bank and O2.

This is also the second time this year that Qualys has been honoured in a major Awards programme in the UK. Qualys also scooped an unprecedented five awards in this year’s SC Magazine European Excellence Awards including Best European Security Company and Best European Security Solution.
