| VENDOR REFERENCE: MS07-018, 925939 |
| CVE REFERENCE: CVE-2007-0938, CVE-2007-0939 |
| CVSS SCORES: Base 5.3/ Temporal 3.5 |
| THREAT: Microsoft Content Management Server enables companies to quickly and efficiently build, deploy and maintain content-rich Web sites. It is vulnerable to a remote code execution issue and a cross-site scripting issue because of the way that it handles a crafted HTTP request. |
| IMPACT: An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. |
| SOLUTION: Refer to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-018 for further details on this vulnerability and patch instructions.
Microsoft has rated this issue as Critical. |
| Universal Plug and Play Could Allow Remote Code Execution |
|---|
| SEVERITY: Critical |

| VENDOR REFERENCE: MS07-019, 931261 |
| CVE REFERENCE: CVE-2007-1204 |
| CVSS SCORES: Base 7/ Temporal 5.2 |
| THREAT: A remote code execution vulnerability exists in the Universal Plug and Play service in the way that it handles specially crafted HTTP requests. |
| IMPACT: An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability could run arbitrary code in the context of the local service. |
| SOLUTION: Refer to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-019 for further details on this vulnerability and patch instructions.
Microsoft has rated this issue as Critical. |
| Microsoft Agent Allows Remote Code Execution |
|---|
| SEVERITY: Critical |
| QUALYS ID: 90392 |
| VENDOR REFERENCE: MS07-020, 932168 |
| CVE REFERENCE: CVE-2007-1205 |
| CVSS SCORES: Base 10/ Temporal 7.4 |
| THREAT: A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Microsoft Agent. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by handling specially crafted URLs that can corrupt system memory and execute arbitrary code using Microsoft Agent Control. |
| IMPACT: The attacker can gain complete control of the system, and then install programs, modify data and/or create new accounts with complete user rights. |
| SOLUTION: Refer to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-020 for further details on this vulnerability and patch instructions.
Microsoft has rated these issues as Critical. |
| Vulnerabilities in CSRSS Could Allow Remote Code Execution |

| VENDOR REFERENCE: MS07-021, 930178 |
| CVE REFERENCE: CVE-2006-6696, CVE-2007-1209, CVE-2006-6797 |
| CVSS SCORES: Base 3.4/ Temporal 2.5 |
| THREAT: Windows Client/Server Run-time Subsystem (CSRSS) process is exposed to the following vulnerabilities:
-A remote code execution and denial of service vulnerabilities because of the way that it handles error messages. -A privilege elevation vulnerability because of the way it handles its connections during the startup and stopping of processes. |
| IMPACT: An attacker could exploit the vulnerability by constructing a specially crafted application that could potentially allow remote code execution. This issue can be exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges. An attacker could also exploit the vulnerability by running a specially crafted application causing the system to restart. |
| SOLUTION: Refer to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-021 for more information and instructions on downloading the patch that fixes this issue.

| CVE REFERENCE: CVE-2007-1206 |
| CVSS SCORES: Base 2.3/ Temporal 1.7 |
| THREAT: A privilege elevation vulnerability exists in Windows Kernel because of incorrect permissions on a mapped memory segment. |
| IMPACT: An attacker who successfully exploits this vulnerability could run arbitrary code on a user's system with elevated privileges. |
| SOLUTION: Refer to Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-022 for further details on this vulnerability and patch instructions.

SELECTIVE SCAN INSTRUCTIONS USING QUALYSGUARD:
To perform a selective vulnerability scan, configure a scan profile to use the following options:
- Ensure access to TCP ports 135 and 139 are available.
- Enable Windows Authentication (specify Authentication Records).
- Enable the following Qualys IDs:
- 12236
- 90390
- 90392
- 90374
- 90376
- 90391
- If you would like the scan to return the Windows Hostname, also include QID 82044 and ensure access to UDP port 137 is available.
- If you would like to be notified if QualysGuard is unable to logon to a host (if Authentication fails), also include QID 105015.
In addition, prior to running a scan for these new vulnerabilities, you can estimate your exposure to these new threats by running the Risk Matrix Report, available from the QualysGuard HOME page.
